Warranty conditions for the commercial and professional sector - valid for all standard products

ilox manufactures in accordance with the state of the art and always puts high-quality components into its products. That is why ilox offers a 24-month warranty from the date of purchase or delivery on its standard products for regular use.

In the case of LED lights, ilox offers a total 36-month warranty, beyond the legal obligations. If an LED light fails completely because of a manufacturing fault within the warranty period of 36 months after the date of purchase or delivery, the buyer will receive a replacement free of charge. The faulty light or component must be returned to ilox Deutschland in unbreakable packaging with sufficient postage and a copy of the sales slip (= invoice/delivery docket). The applicable statutory claims of the buyer under German and European law for product defects are unaffected by this warranty commitment and apply in parallel to it. ilox reserves the right to decide itself on the eligibility of a warranty claim. This requires the prior return of the failed products or components for fault analysis.

The following costs are not covered by the warranty:

  • administrative or sales-related costs for claim processing
  • costs of trouble-shooting
  • supplements on other costs charged
  • overhead costs
  • additional costs due to more difficult accessibility or unusual installation of the ilox product
  • costs arising from non-adherence to the assembly and installation instructions issued by ilox.

The process relies on presentation of:

  • detailed claim report and correctly completed return form
  • copy of the sales slip (= invoices/delivery dockets)
  • documents to support all valid additional costs.

Only those costs will be refunded which are required in accordance with the legislated and generally applicable damage minimisation obligation and whose plausibility can be proven by the claimant. Failed ilox products must be sent to the following address for fault analysis:

ilox will decide on the eligibility of the warranty claim. The warranty is limited to a maximum amount of €30,000 per overall delivery project or installation.

 


How to make a claim correctly?

ilox must be notified of any product fault without delay. Photographic proof, and if necessary measurement results, must be enclosed if possible.

ilox will check the reported claim as quickly as possible and decide on the kind of warranty service (= replacement, repair or credit note).
Should ilox deem it necessary to carry out an ON-SITE inspection or repair using its own personnel, the complainant customer must, in consultation with the ilox employee, provide the required entry and access to the facility.

Warranty preconditions?

Professional mechanical and electrical installation, correct assembly of all structural components in terms of dust and moisture protection, as well as proper operation are preconditions for a claim to warranty services. The installation and commissioning of the ilox products supplied must therefore be carried out by trained personnel in accordance with all specifications and instructions in the ilox assembly and operation manuals supplied and the generally recognised rules of the technology.

When is a guarantee service excluded?

  • If the product fails because of transport damage (= outsidei ilox transport liability);
  • In the case of wilful damage (e.g. sabotage/vandalism) after delivery handover
  • In the case of grossly incorrect installation/assembly or grossly incorrect operation;
  • In the case of destruction caused by excessive voltages resulting from lightening strike, power-grid technical issues or installation electrical connection errors.

Miscellaneous

Insofar as nothing has been agreed to the contrary, the customer shall undertake upon receipt of advance and free-of-charge replacements to return all faulty or replaced components toilox within 30 days in unbreakable packaging and at its own cost.
If collection of the goods has been agreed with ilox, the customer shall undertake to prepare and store the goods in unbreakable packaging for up to 6 months from the date of replacement. If the goods are not collected within this period, they may be disposed of by the customer without further consultation.
In the case of any litigation or court proceedings arising from this warranty commitment, the place of adjudication shall be agreed to be the location of the ilox company (49377 Vechta, Germany).
